East End Loft is located on the East End of Pittsburgh in a large industrial building. The studio is filled with gorgeous natural light, engineered hardwood floors, white wainscoting and black matte shiplap. East End Loft is a perfect location for your next family, newborn, senior, branding, boudoir, maternity or engagement session. Our studio is a BYOP: Bring Your Own Photographer! Although I would love to capture your photographs at East End Loft, I understand that you may have a family favorite photographer or have a certain photographer in mind whose editing styling and creativity fits your vision. That's why East End Loft's focus is to embrace and admire all creative and professional photographers. 2 hour minimum and 8 hour max. Please inquire for additional time.
You are provided the option to add-on a half hour once your hourly selection is made on our booking site.

Is lighting equipment provided?
The studio is perfect for natural light photographers since the studio has 2 large windows, therefor lighting is not provided. The window to the right of the studio is north facing. and gets a lot of direct sunlight. Curtains are provided so you can control the lighting to make your session work for you any tie of day.
Which way do the windows face?
The window toward the back of the room faces north and the window to the right of the room faces east. The sun is brightest in the room in the morning. Sheer and partial shade curtains are provided for you to control the lighting as you see fit and do an excellent job at defusing any morning sun.
Is the studio pet friendly?
At this time, the studio does not allow pets but may be considered in the future. Please inquire.

What happens if I need to cancel or not enough people booked for my mini sessions?
All studio payments are non-refundable and we ask that you please plan your business practices accordingly. If the studio needs to close due to inclement weather and unsafe travel based on our discretion, you will be credited for the amount you paid to use within 30 days of your original scheduled session. Your credit cannot be split between multiple sessions. We also understand that emergencies do come up and will consider a credit used within 30 days of your schedule date on a case-by-case basis.
Is there an elevator for heavy equipment, props, furniture etc...?
Yes, the building does have a freight elevator and moving carts. When you book, you will get detailed instructions on how to access and operate the freight elevator. There is also an elevator for passengers only.
What can I use in the studio?
Everything in the studio is yours to utilize. Furniture may be moved if there are moving pads underneath to avoid scratching the floor. Otherwise, please gently lift and move smaller items. You are required to clean and disinfect after your time has ended. Please leave the studio the way you found it and report of anything that was damaged during your time.
What if I need more time during my session?
Unfortunately, your session time is accounted for and we may have a renter immediately after you. However, please inquire to see if there is extra time available should you wish to add on time BEFORE the start date of your session. Please reserve your session time with set up, tear down and clean up in mind when booking.
Can I hang stuff on the walls?
We ask that you do not put nails in the walls but you are allowed to use tape or double sided tape.
What can I use in the studio?
Everything in the studio is yours to utilize. Furniture may be moved if there are moving pads underneath to avoid scratching the floor. Otherwise, please gently lift and move smaller items. You are required to clean and disinfect after your time has ended. Please leave the studio the way you found it and report of anything that was damaged during your time. Please note: Furniture and props can get changed out at any time. Things may need replaced, so please rent the studio with the understanding that an item may not be available.
Is there a waiting room for my clients?
Yes, there is a couch and open common area next to the studio. There is also a restroom available down the hall.
Can I tour the studio?
We will try our best to accommodate giving you a tour of the studio, but cannot guarantee it. We provide images here on our site to give you the most accurate description of our 500 square foot studio space.
Can I use glitter, smoke bombs, or have a cake smash etc...?
No glitter, smoke bombs, confetti, liquids or powders, smoking or open flames may be used in the studio. Cake smashes are allowed with restrictions. Please bring your own cleaning supplies and notify us first.
